Lehigh University, founded by industrialist Asa Parker in 1865, is a top private research university with a long history in the United States. It is one of the alliance schools of the Patriot League. In 2020, US&NEWS ranked 50th. Ranked 31st in 2008 and stabilized at 30-50 for the past 10 years.
